Boiling Point - The Start of Transformation

When WATER begins to BOIL, it no longer is just water, it becomes STEAM. It becomes a new entity, it is transformed from the previous state it once held.

In Youth Ministry, that is one of the main focuses, to help the teens get to the place of Transformation, to become a new creation in Jesus Christ!

What does Transformation

look like?

Transformation is the beginning of change.

The result of transformation is different in most cases but the one constant is Jesus Christ, He is the change agent and when you come into contact with Jesus, transformation is bound to take place.

Transformation is that place of a persons life when a decision is made, a decision to fully commit themselves to follow Jesus with all that they are and all that they do. This has more to do with attitude then anything else. An attitude of commitment. The commitment is to live according to Jesus Christ's example in the New Testament. The tangible portions of Transformation are seen within a persons decision making, their integrity and their willing to do what is right when no one else is looking. This is just a portion of what transformation is and how you can recognize it in children, teens and adults.

There is more to this but for now, Let's hear from you and your thoughts on Transformation!

  • Chopper, good post! When you say transformation has to do with attitude. Does that mean that it begins within the heart? It's deeper than behavioristic changes, it's like a different posture of the heart. That's what I hear you saying here.
I wonder if we water down the word "transformation" when we say this event or that program is "transformational". If transformation is really an attitude of a heart then NOTHING in and of itself beyond our heart and Jesus' life has the ability to transform. On the otherhand, ANYTHING in life can become a catalyst for transformation if we allow our hearts to be placed into the hands of Christ. What are your thoughts?

  • I think you are on to something Heath!! Anything can be the catalyst for transformation. Although, true transformation is not easily at first glance. I cannot tell that a person has truly been transformed until the life of Jesus is lived out in their own life and in their attitude.

So I guess, apart from the life of Jesus and the impact for change that Jesus is , there is nothing that can have a greater impact to transform then the truth of Jesus.

The truth of your statement, ..."become a catalyst for transformation if we allow our hearts to be placed into the hands of Christ." Allowing our hearts to be placed in to the hands of Christ is the transformation that I am concerned about, when we do this we allow God to Lead and our hearts will be tranformed and our behaviors will be as well.

    Great Conversation!!!!!
